“This is the second ADU we’ve built for this client. The third one is on its way!”
Omega Structural has worked with this client for nearly seven years, beginning with a successful ADU project that helped establish a strong long-term working relationship. After the first ADU was completed to the client’s satisfaction, Omega was trusted again for a second ADU project, with plans already moving toward a third. This current project includes an additional ADU connected to the existing home, a side living area, a two-car garage conversion into ADU space, and a two-story addition to the main house.
The second ADU project has been in progress for approximately four months, with much of the timeline shaped by city review and additional requested changes to ensure the new work properly conforms to the existing structure. While these requirements can create delays, Omega Structural values the inspection and review process because it helps protect the property owner, the structure, and the long-term success of the project. Inspectors are supposed to be detail-oriented, and we appreciate that level of oversight. Omega has rejected projects in the past when the work could not be completed properly or by the rules, because structural work, ADUs, garage conversions, and additions should always be built with compliance and safety in mind.
With over 30 years of structural construction experience, Omega Structural prepares as much documentation, planning, and coordination as possible before the first inspection even takes place. Completing an ADU efficiently benefits both the client and the contractor: the sooner the project is finished correctly, the sooner the owner can begin using the space, renting it, or recouping their investment. That is why long-term client relationships matter so much to Omega. When the work is done correctly, clients come back - just like this client, who has trusted Omega Structural for close to a decade and continues to work with us on major additions, ADUs, garage conversions, and structural improvements.
